In a stroke of serendipity, .Cent has chosen Restrictions as its theme for January – the month of denying indulgence and imposing self-discipline.
Restrictions can be voluntary or dictated, forced upon an individual or an entire society, and can exist in habitation or recreation.
Censorship restricts the ideas labelled too risqué and obscene for consumption, whereas artists can dramatically and optionally limit their own colour palettes, mediums and modes, creating art through constriction.
